John Kelsall

John was called into active service for his Master and Commander, Lord and Savior on 21 Dec 1969 at the age of 8.

Since that time John has served the Lord in many different roles and capacities in Quebec and Ontario.

John was blessed to marry Sharon 37 years ago where the Lord gave them a wonderful family with 3 beautiful daughters – Amanda (Doctor), Debra (Investment Banker) and Jenna (ICU Nurse). Amanda was called home to serve the King of Kings on 05 Jan 2014. John and Sharon seek the Lord’s strength every day and share the good news of Jesus’ love and grace not wasting their sorrow. Summer of 2024 was very busy for the Kelsall family where Debra and Jenna each married the love of their life adding 2 sons to the kelsall family - Daniel and Omri.

John was blessed to serve in the OPP and retired in Sept 2018 after 33 years as Commander of Emergency Response and Tactics and Rescue. Since that time John worked part time 3 years for the Provincial Police Academy as a Firearms Instructor as well as completing in March 2025 a 4 ½ yr full time contract with the Parliamentary Protective Service in Ottawa as a Critical Incident Senior Technical Advisor.

John and Sharon became members of Cornerstone in January 2024. Before this, John served as an Elder on multiple Boards both in Belleville and Midhurst.

John and Sharon are a team for Jesus having taught Youth Sunday school, led Youth Groups and worked in various Men’s and Women’s ministries over the years. Currently John and Sharon are serving as Deacons as well as on the Welcome team at Cornerstone. They also run a Summer Sunday School – Lake Talon Sunday School at their cottage near North Bay.

Ben McNaull

I have been attending CBC for the past 13 years. It has been a joy and privilege to serve as an Elder over the past 3 years. I am seeking to serve for another 3-year term.

I am happily married to Elizabeth; this summer we will be celebrating out 19th anniversary. Together we have 3 boys, Jacob, Nicholas and Jonathan.  Elizabeth and I moved to Orillia in 2011. I work as a Family Physician and an Emergency Physician in Orillia.

I have an interest in missions and have been blessed by having the opportunity to serve with teams from Cornerstone in India, South Africa and the Dominican Republic over the past decade. It’s amazing to see how the Lord is working around the world.

One of my favourite scripture passages is Philippians 4:4-7. Through life’s journey this passage has provided encouragement and focus.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
